Before I buy guildwars...
Before I buy guildwars...I would like some questions awnsered.
1. I remember in the beta the download cleint was VERY small. Becuase of this, as you would go from place to place, you would wait at a loading screen and download all of the needed files. In the retail version, does it do the same thing? Or is everything already on the hard-drive? 2. Becuase this is free, they are probably going to come out with tons of expanison packs. Do you know how often they plan to do this? 3. How would a WoW fan react to this game at first? 4. refering back to #1 question. If I do need to download all the stuff, how long would it take for a person with a max 40kb/s download rate. (yes, I know my cable is slow). Thanks for the help - first time posting n00b |

1. With the retail version, its all on HDD already so the loading time of each area depends on your comp, takes under 2seconds for me.
2. I think according to their site the expansions will come out every 6-9months? correct me if im wrong. 3. I havent touched my WoW since i got this. 4. no idea, just buy the retail so you dont need to download anything, saves alot of time |

1] The game's install discs [two of them] will install all the areas onto your computer, so you won't run into the DL problems of the beta. However, you may need to download a file or two on some new areas.
2] The first expansion is said to be coming out the first quarter of 2006. They said they would release an expansion every 6-9 months. 3] I have not played WoW, so I really don't know. However, there is much less grind in Guild Wars. 4] It looks like you need to open up a port on your router. As the Technician's Corner of this forum for help on that. |

The connection shouldn't be a problem at all. I used to be on 256k ADSL (max dl 25kBps) and could access areas instantly.
